It's never too early to have conversations about race with your children, these books are tools that make those conversations easier. Reading with children about historical figures is important (and you will find some of their stories in this list) but it is also vital to help children see, understand, and normalize the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. We all have differences and smilarities and that's a great early coversation piece for children. But, it is important books that go beyond just saying diversity is good and instead provide a lens for children to see life through the eyes of people different then them.
